In 2013, Sara started VET in her hometown of Bloomington, Indiana. She is a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Indiana since 2009 and a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) since 2011. Prior to starting VET, Sara worked for her father’s business, Fields Environmental, Inc. doing environmental consulting work, specifically soil and groundwater remediation. Sara is trained as an environmental engineer and served as an engineer officer in the Army from 2004 to 2009 after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2004. She did a tour in Iraq in 2005-06 with the 54th Engineer Battalion (Combat Mechanized). Sara graduated with her Master’s degree from Indiana University’s School of Public and Environmental Affairs in 2016 with a graduate degree in Environmental Science.
