Born a Hoosier, Emily moved to Bloomington in 2017 to pursue a degree in Informatics at Indiana University. Throughout her four undergraduate years, she funneled her love for mapping and computing into her degree. In 2021, she graduated with a B.S. in Informatics, a cognate in Geography, and a minor in Earth and Atmospheric Science.

Emily’s obsession with rocks began at a young age. This love for geology evolved into a goal to understand and protect the natural world. Initially hired at VET as the GIS Analyst, she has returned to Indiana University for a master’s degree in Geological Sciences. This will enable her to work toward her goal of becoming a Licensed Professional Geologist.

Her hunger for knowledge drives her desire for acquiring new technological skills. Her mission is to promote sustainability and help provide visualizations for environmentally friendly solutions. Her position at VET allows her to be a part of the team that does just that.

When away from work, Emily spends her days being outside as much as possible. She often may be found hiking with her dog, Koa, and looking for the next best rock outcrop around Bloomington.
